We have a fantastic new job opportunity in a Hotel in Fujairah to work as a Waiter/Waitress.

Working as a Waiter/Waitress you will play an important and active role in Food and Beverage Department, specifically in the Bar/Restaurant. A job of a waiter/waitress is very important to the smooth running of the bar/restaurant as well as the hotel. The main purpose of the waiter/waitress is to deliver the best guest experience while permanently performing the highest level of customer service. Waiter/Waitress is expected to communicate with guests and other team members also to manage a section within the bar/restaurant making sure all standards are kept with attention to detail.  You need to serve the tables efficiently and effectively.  Additionally, you as a waiter/waitress will make sure that all public areas are always kept clean and tidy.

-Duties

 The aim of the internship is to improve yourself as a professional. Main duties are:

  • Keep the customers as comfortable as possible
  • Act as an intermediary between the kitchen and restaurant staff
  • Monitor the status of each table and provide guests with the menu
  • Welcome and lead guests to their tables
  • Answer phone calls and take reservations
  • Provide report on the daily activities in the facility
  • Make guests comfortable while waiting for their orders
  • Assist in table clearing as occasion demands
  • Proffer appropriate seating arrangements
  • Take orders and present menus
  • Ensure sufficient quantity of menus that will be enough to cater for available guests
  • Relay customers’ orders to the kitchen staff and ensure that they are filled accurately and timely
  • Make reservation arrangements
  • Ensure that work area and tables are clean and organized
  • Ensure maintenance of both interior and exterior environment of the hotel / restaurant.

Fujairah is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, and the only one of the seven that has a coastline solely on the Gulf of Oman and none on the Persian Gulf.

-Requirements

The program is highly beneficial for those who have a degree related to tourism and hospitality. Previous work experience in the same field is considered an advantage.

-Curriculum Activities

Employees can spend their leisure time as they love. Fujairah has a very diverse and lively entertainment scene, with many bars, restaurants, clubs and cinemas catering particularly for the large expatriate population. Due to the strict licensing laws, many venues serving alcohol are located in hotels, but there are particular areas of the city with significant numbers of independent establishments. Music and dancing in bars and clubs is not allowed during the month of Ramadan.

Fujairah offers a particularly good standard of world-class entertainment, being on the international circuit for many theatre and dance groups, rock bands, singers, comedians and other entertainers.

 

-Work Day

You will be working 8 hours per day with a break for your meal. There are different shifts at the hotel so you may be working in the morning, evening or night shift. You might have a straight shift (work 8 hours in a row) or a split-shift (work 4 hours first and after a break work another 4 hours).
