The Imam Al-Kadhum College was established in 2009 in Baghdad, Iraq, and is affiliated to the Shiite Endowment Office.The college offers bachelor’s degrees, as well master’s and doctoral degrees across Islamic, human and scientific sciences. There are 13 main departments at the college that offer these programmes: sciences of the Qur’an and hadith; sharia; Islamic thought and creed; Arabic language and literature; history; law; political sciences; media; English; software technologies engineering; financial and banking sciences; kindergarten and special education; and administration and economics.There are eight campuses in total as part of the Imam Al-Kadhum College, located across Iraq. They include Babel, Najaf, Diwaniyah, Mesan, Wasit, Diyala, Basra, and Dhiqar.The college has five main goals. Firstly, to enhance and develop the potential of the college and its sustainability through scientific research. Secondly, it aims to develop educational programmes along with quality standards. It thirdly strives to achieve educational quality through international rankings and accreditation. Fourth, the college aims to partner with overseas universities through education, science and research. The college’s final goal is community service and cooperation with the private sector, to allow students training, education and the spread of scientific culture across the local community.
