Located in Terre Haute, Indiana, this institution is a public university that has a student enrolment of more than 13,000, and is regularly ranked among the top universities in the United States. In fact, the Princeton Review ranked Indiana State University (ISU) among the best Midwestern universities every year between 2004 and 2016. ISU was established in 1865 as the Indiana State Normal School, taking its current name in 1965 as a result of its continued expansion. A branch campus was created in 1965 in Evansville, although it became an independent institution 20 years later and is now known as the University of Southern Indiana. The main ISU campus is located on a plot on the north side of the Terre Haute business district and is more than 200 acres in size. The university makes regular efforts to enhance the beauty of the campus and Donaghy Day, named after graduate Fred Donaghy, has become a campus tradition where each year a day is set aside to beautify the campus and surrounding area. ISU also has a 93-acre field campus near Brazil, Indiana, which accommodates some of the 90 programs offered at ISU. The university is comprised of six colleges – the College of Arts and Sciences, the Donald W. Scott College of Business, the College of Technology, the College of Health and Human Services, the Bayh College of Education, and the College of Graduate and Graduate and Professional Studies.
