Located in the heart of Istanbul, Kadir Has University was founded in 1997 by Kadir Has, the Turkish industrialist and philanthropist. Kadir Has University is a research university, which aims to generate high quality research as well as students with competencies of highest standards by developing a new model of education that is application- and project-based.Mission Statement: Our aim is to create an environment of education, research, and discussion at the level of the best universities in the world. Thus we offer education based on both traditional disciplines and interdisciplinary models; we foster the skills necessary for continuing social and cultural development; and, while helping students prepare for the future, we encourage their search for higher truths.KHAS New Education Model:KHAS New Education Model consists of a Core Program designed for all 1st year students and a Project-Based Education Model starting from 2nd year. This model does not include any traditional courses, and all academic and professional competences are delivered to the students via projects developed in cooperation with leading business partners in each sector.The Core Program provides a common academic curriculum for KHAS freshmen before they begin courses specific to their departments. Underlying the curriculum is the belief that a university should foster creative inquiry in students to prepare them for the rapid changes and new challenges in their specific fields and in society as a whole.Following the Core Program, starting from 2nd year, Project-Based Education Model is implemented in which;Syllabi are prepared in cooperation with leading sector representatives.
