Kemerovo State University was officially established in 1973 but its origins can be traced back to the Kemerovo Pedagogical Institute. The university is accredited by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education.The university is located Kemerovo Oblast, a region in western Siberia.The university has four branches spread across Kemerovo Oblast in Belovo, Anzhero-Sudzhensk, Novokuznetsk, and Prokopyevsk. It also has an international branch situated in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.Students can study courses in a number of fields at bachelor, masters and doctoral level. There are 20 departments at the university, which offer degree programmes to suit a range of interests. The university’s 17 educational laboratories and administrative buildings provide an excellent learning environment for students.Throughout the year, the university hosts a variety of events such as lectures, conferences and seminars. These events are both national and international, welcoming experts from across the globe to talk and discuss their research discoveries.Annually, the university shares its research in more than 1,500 scientific publications, 600-700 of which can be found in the central press. Postgraduate and doctoral students are given the opportunity to conduct their own research as part of their thesis.
