The Novosibirsk University of Economics and Management has a history that dates back to 1929 when the Siberian Institute of National Economy was established. In 1967 the institute was renamed Novosibirsk Institute of National Economy. The institute was granted university status in 2004 and became Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management.The university is located in Novosibirsk, a city in Siberia, southern Russia.Academically, the university is organised into four faculties, which specialise in economics, social studies and humanities, law, and IT. Within these faculties are 29 departments offering a range of both undergraduate and graduate courses.Alongside their studies students are encouraged to choose one of the university’s seven extra-curricular trajectories. These include leadership and initiatives, international relations, analytics, science and innovation, culture and creation work, healthy lifestyle and safety and security, entrepreneurship, and business and governance. These trajectories are designed to help students grow personally and professionally.Throughout the academic year the university carries out research in five key areas: information systems and processes, economics and management of national economy, accounting and statistics, social philosophy, and sociology of management. Research is published in national and international journals such as the university’s own scientific review journal Vestnik NSUEM.
