The Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH), founded in 1991 on the basis of the Moscow State Institute for History and Archives (1930), is one of the major actors in the reform of the humanities in higher education in Russia. RSUH has an international profile and cooperates with more than 200 universities worldwide. It is a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU), the European University Association (EUA), the Global University Network for Innovation (GUNI) and the European University Information Systems organisation (EUNIS). The university has a record of successful projects within the framework of EU programmes (TEMPUS, Erasmus Mundus, Seventh Framework Programme), the UN (UNICEF, UNESCO) and Council of Europe programmes. It cooperates with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the British Council, the American Councils, the Library of Congress, the Institute of Italian Culture, the Cervantes Institute and the Alliance Francaise. RSUH has expertise in organising inbound and outbound academic mobility between the EU and Russia within EU projects. RSUH offers more than 150 programmes at bachelor’s and master’s levels, and 50 programmes at PhD level.
