Founded in 1909, Saratov State Medical University is one of the oldest universities in Russia. Back then, only 93 students were admitted and there were only courses in the basic sciences. Today, around 7,000 students graduate from Saratov State Medical University every year.Located on the Volga River, Saratov is a port city serving as an administrative centre of Saratov Blast and Saratovsky District.The three faculties of study are: general medical, pediatrics and dentistry where students can specialise further and study courses like pharmaceuticals, nursing and clinical psychology.Courses are taught in Russian and English, and the duration of undergraduate study is six years, including one year of apprenticeship and five years of classroom learning.When students aren’t in lectures, they can get involved with the university’s cultural festivals, sports tournaments, conferences, debates, and volunteering projects.On campus, students will find accommodation and all rooms come equipped with wifi, central heating, and laundry facilities.There are sporting facilities on campus, including: a newly furnished skiing resort, a swimming pool, and well-equipped gyms.And for those students with a passion for dance, stand up or theatre, there are plenty of clubs and societies to join.The International Department of the Saratov State Medical University has established a significant number of international links with different medical schools and universities. These partnerships with universities worldwide have also paved the way for student and faculty exchange as well as advanced research opportunities.
