The University of Education, Lahore is a multi-campus public research university which focuses on teacher education. It is mainly in the city of Lahore, with institutions and campuses in other cities of the Punjab province of Pakistan.Founded in 2002, there are about 13,000 students, 360 academic staff and 400 administrative staff.The Bank Road Campus, in the heart of Lahore, was founded in 1933 as a Lady Maclagan Training College for women. In 1976, it was renamed the Government College of Education for Women and in September 2002, following the establishment of the University of Education, it became one of its campuses.The Attock campus came later, opening in 2018 as a part of the university.The Government College of Education in D.G. Khan was established in 1989.The Faisalabad campus started in the building of the Augaaf Department and later transferred to its present 23-acre campus.The Jauharabad Campus began as Johar Government Girls School and became a University of Education campus in 2004.The Multan Campus was established as the Government Training College in 1959 in Bahawalpur and became a part of the university in 2002.Each campus has its own library and one or more computer labs.The university offers evening programmes for those who are already in work. In addition to offering degree programmes, there are workshops, seminars and short and advanced courses, such as the Postgraduate Diploma and Teaching Certificate.
