The University of Management and Technology, originally known as the Institute of Management and Technology, is a private research university in Johar Town, Lahore, Pakistan.Founded in 2002 as a project of the Institute of Leadership and Management, it became an independent university in 2004.Today, there are more than 16,000 students over more than 125 degree programmes in a diverse range of disciplines, such as aviation, linguistics, dairy science and more.There are more than 650 faculty members with more than 160 PhDs between them. There are also more than 1,500 administrative staff.The main campus includes an academic block, library and learning resource centre, classrooms, science and engineering laboratories, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, a cafeteria and a mosque.The sub-campus is located in the Punjab city of Sialkot, which is known for manufacturing and exporting, in particular surgical instruments, musical instruments, sports goods, leather goods and textile goods. The Sialkot campus includes multimedia classrooms, laboratories and computer labs.The university has two separate lodgings for male and female students, who are accommodated on a first come first served basis. The boys lodgings are at Wahdat Road in Lahore, while the girls are housed in Wapda Town.There are more than 60 clubs and societies, including the English speaking union, the character building society, the quizzical society, the Islamic society, pet lovers, the blood donors society, the muscular rehabilitation society and the happiness club.
