Established in 1991, the University of South Australia (UniSA) was founded with the merger of two institutions; the South Australian Institute of Technology and the South Australian College of Advanced Education.It is an open research institution that is associated with the Association of Commonwealth Universities, as well as being a founding member of the Australian Technology Network.Students at UniSA have the opportunity to learn at six modern campus facilities across Adelaide, each with their own distinctive personality. City East Campus in the heart of the city centre, for example, is bordered by the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and is just a short stroll from some of the city’s best eateries on Rundle Street. While Magill Campus is a little more remote, nestled within 15 hectares of parkland in the lush foothills of Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.With more than 32,000 students, UniSA offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a wide range of subjects including business, law, education, arts and social sciences, health sciences, engineering and the environment.UniSA shapes their courses around study beyond the lecture room. Working in partnership with more than 2,500 companies across different industries, students are given plenty of opportunity to gain practical skills through placements and internships helping them to graduate career ready.In addition, industry professionals regularly visit the university for guest lectures, practical workshops and interactive sessions.The university has a long list of notable alumni that includes artist Andrew Baines, author D.M Cornish and famous chef Poh Ling Yeow.
