Voronezh State Technical University is located in the Russian city of Voronezh, and was established in 1930 as Voronezh’s first technical university. In 2016, the university became the flagship technical university of the region.Voronezh in central Russia is one of the leading urban economies for engineering and metalworking, with several national and multinational companies based there, including Abbott Laboratories, and Voronezh Aircraft Production Association.There are lots of great facilities on campus, including a health and fitness centre, swimming pool, and museum of engineering history.There are 12 main faculties at the university: international education; architecture and urban planning; construction; culture and education; economics, management and information technology; engineering systems and structures; information technology and computer safety; mechanical and aerospace engineering; power and control systems; radio engineering and electronics; road and transport; and construction and engineering.Across these faculties, the university offers 87 bachelors degrees, 66 master's degrees, and 10 specialist degrees.Notable alumni include Russian Youth Olympic break-dancer, Sergei Chernyshev, as well as Andrey Rybalchenko, computer scientist at Microsoft. The university has also produced several notable figures in politics, including Russian Politician, Aleksey Aleksandrovich Zhuravlyov and Akhmatbek Keldibekov.
